Ouarzazate is the closest city to the great erg, and this two-day circuit makes the most of it: pickup at your accommodation at 8:30, the N10 through the Anti-Atlas plateaus with a stop for carpets or coffee in Taznakht, lunch in Foum Zguid — and by two o’clock you are on the track.
The desert half is the same as our classic excursion: the crossing of Lac Iriki, the Colorado marocain and the fossil plateau, the dunes at sunset, camel ride, dinner by the fire and a night in the equipped bivouac. After sunrise on the ridges you return by another track and are dropped in Ouarzazate around five.

Itinerary
Day 1 · 08:30 — Ouarzazate · Taznakht · Foum Zguid
Departure from your accommodation on the N10 through the Anti-Atlas plateaus, a stop in Taznakht, then south. Lunch in Foum Zguid.
Day 1 · 14:00 — Lac Iriki, the Colorado, the dunes
Crossing the dry lake with stops at the Colorado marocain and the fossil plateau; arrival at the dunes for sunset. Camel ride, Berber dinner, fire, night in the equipped bivouac.
Day 2 · 07:00 — Sunrise and return
A walk on the ridges at sunrise, breakfast, return by another track. Lunch in Foum Zguid; drop-off in Ouarzazate around 17:00.

Airport pickup?
Yes, straight from your flight. Arrivals before 11:00 can leave the same day; later, we add a night in Ouarzazate or Foum Zguid.
Can I end in Marrakech instead?
Yes — the drop-off in Marrakech adds about four hours via the Tizi n’Tichka, for a supplement.
How does it compare to the 3-day circuit from Marrakech?
Only the starting point changes, and therefore the driving hours: from Ouarzazate you skip the High Atlas and gain half a day. The desert part — lake, track, bivouac — is identical.
